We are looking to recruit a Learning Support Teacher to join ACS International School Doha, Qatar. The suitable candidate plays a crucial role in providing specialized educational support to students with diverse learning needs.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Specialisation in Special Education and EAL, or a related field.
- Teaching Qualification- PGCE/BEd or equivalent preferred
- Experience teaching in an international school preferred (IB, AP, PYP and/or MYP)
Knowledge and Skills
- Fluent in English both written and spoken.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse student needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, parents and colleagues.
- Knowledge of various learning disabilities, developmental disorders and behavioral challenges.
Responsibilities :
- Utilize various teaching strategies and resources to engage students with diverse learning styles.
- Provide emotional support and behavior management strategies to help students succeed socially and emotionally.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages self-confidence and self-esteem.
- Ensure that students with special needs receive appropriate educational opportunities.
- Plan and deliver targeted instructional interventions to support students’ academic
- Set Specific goals and objectives that align with the students’ abilities and the curriculum.
- Regularly assess and monitor student progress toward IEP goals.
- Analyze assessments results to determine appropriate learning strategies and accommodations.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans ( IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Communicate progress reports to parents and the educational team.
