Job overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic part-time Learning Support Teacher who is passionate about student progress and well-being in an international school setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with secondary school students (ages 11–18) and a strong background in supporting learners with diverse educational needs, preferably within an IB context. Experience with the MYP and DP frameworks is desirable but not essential. Proficiency in English is required. While Spanish is not required for work at ICS, we offer free Spanish lessons to all staff members who are interested in learning the language.

The Role
We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Teacher to join our dedicated team. You will be responsible for supporting students from K–12 with diverse learning needs, enabling them to access and thrive within the ICS learning environment. The role focuses on providing academic and social-emotional support, collaborating closely with colleagues and families, and contributing to the inclusive ethos of the school.

Key Responsibilities
Support students with learning differences across the school (K–12) to maximise their potential in the mainstream classroom.

Develop and implement Individualised Educational Plans (IEPs) based on identified strengths and needs.

Provide targeted one-on-one, small group, or in-class support using evidence-based interventions.

Modify curriculum materials, differentiate tasks, and apply scaffolding strategies to support inclusive access to learning.

Collaborate with teachers to co-plan and adapt lessons, assessments, and approaches to support students effectively.

Maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions, parent meetings, and team discussions.

Participate actively in IEP reviews, student support team meetings, and parent-teacher conferences.

Prepare referrals and documentation for external specialists or agencies as needed.

Support transitions for students moving across grade levels or into new programs.

Stay current with best practices in special education and inclusive education.
