Derby College Group (DCG) is looking for a compassionate and proactive Learning Support Trainer to join our Student Experience and Pastoral team, providing tailored support that helps students develop their confidence, independence and skills for the future. This role will be based at The Roundhouse.

The Opportunity

As a Learning Support Trainer, you will provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of additional learning needs, both in and outside the classroom. You will help develop and implement individual support plans, encourage independence and support students with their social, emotional and mental health needs. Working closely with teaching staff, families and external agencies, you will help create an inclusive and supportive college experience. The role may also involve providing personal care where required.

About You

You will have experience of supporting students, or a genuine willingness to learn, alongside an understanding of additional learning needs and the SEND Code of Practice. You will be confident supporting students with a range of needs and behaviours and able to respond positively to challenging situations. Strong organisation and communication skills are essential, as is a commitment to helping students become more independent. You will hold Level 2 English and maths and Safeguarding and Mental Health First Aid training or be willing to work towards.
