About the role:

We are seeking an exceptional Lecturer in Humanities & Social Sciences to be part of the Access to HE team and be responsible for teaching a variety of classes at Level 3. The School of Access to Higher Education within City and Islington College delivers a wide range of Access to HE courses across a range of curriculum areas. We are seeking to expand and strengthen our staffing of Social Sciences.

You will join an established team who have many years’ experience providing a successful Access to Higher Education provision to our students. We have built strong links with local, Higher Education Institutions, and our students benefit from this. We are seeking a lecturer who can build on these links, and further strengthen our team by providing effective and stimulating opportunities for all students, through high quality teaching, learning and assessment.

You will develop and deliver practical, hands-on courses that enable users to complete the Access courses and support students effectively in all aspects of their learning as a subject teacher. You will prepare appropriate teaching materials and keep them up to date and use VLE (Moodle) for resources and tutorials. You will promote the curriculum development of existing and new courses, including monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance.

About you:

You will have demonstrable experience of teaching Humanities on Access courses and an honours degree in a relevant Social Science discipline. You will hold a recognised teaching qualification and you will be used to maintaining professional and quality standards, and keeping high quality documentation.
