Job overview

Due to a period of growth within the team, we have an opportunity available for an experienced Maths Lecturer to join our Adult and Higher education provision on a Part time, permanent term basis.

The purpose of the position is to ultimately develop a new generation of Adult Professionals on the start of their education and employment journey. Responsible for delivering teaching and mentoring strategies, you would expect to play an integral part in guiding students to achieve credible diplomas, whilst equipping adult students with for skills for jobs, skills for life.

Areas of responsibility:

  • To deliver exceptional teaching and learning practices and strategies in maths
  • Act as a mentor to students, understanding and demonstrating the importance of inspiring, motivating and engaging learners in learning.

Required experience:

  • Proven track record of successful teaching in Maths or subject related courses (essential)
  • Able to produce effective schemes of work and lesson plans.
  • Able to integrate high quality formative assessments into classroom delivery
  • Knowledge of current industrial practice in areas of teaching and/or employment routes.
  • Knowledge of appropriate curriculum resources for subject area (essential)
  • Proven experience demonstrating inclusive and challenging teaching strategies.
  • Experience in supporting students’ individual needs, ensuring attendance and punctuality.
  • Forward thinking with the ability to work as part of a team and to own initiative.

Qualifications

  • A Maths or numeracy degree (or a related subject)
  • A good standard of education including level 2 Maths and English (GCSE 1-5 or equivalent) (essential).
  • Full teaching qualification or professional recognition in learning and skills or currently working towards (desirable). Trainee positions may be considered.
