Values and vision

The best of both worlds, a foundation degree at Mid-Cheshire College combines classroom teaching with relevant work-based learning. By the end of the course students have a strong academic understanding of their subject, as well the practical skills needed to launch a successful career in a chosen industry.

As part of the college’s apprenticeship programme students can work towards a nationally recognised qualification while demonstrating their understanding and expertise in a chosen industry. Assessment work is combined with vital real-life experience, putting knowledge into action at work. Upon completion of the apprenticeship students receive a National Vocational Qualification (QCF) equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, as well as a portfolio of completed work, a Technical Certificate, and proven on-the-job experience.

Ofsted

“The quality of teaching, learning and assessment has improved in many curriculum areas as a result of more rigorous management of teachers’ performance. Leaders and managers now evaluate the quality of provision more accurately through lesson observations. They use the outcomes of observations to identify aspects of teachers’ practice that need to improve.”
