As the ‘Further Education College of the year 2019’, we have an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in electrical installation to join us on a permanent basis, reporting into the Head of Section for Construction.

You will play a key role in delivering high quality teaching, learning, workshop instruction and assessment, whilst ensuring students are fully engaged and supported. Whilst also maintaining up to date knowledge of developments within industry, and contributing to planning new curriculum, course design and development. 

This role is not only about sharing your knowledge and experience in this field but also collaborating with colleagues across the college to develop and enhance the learner experience whilst also embedding equality and diversity in all aspects of your day-to-day duties.

You will enjoy not only leading through your expertise but also as part of a team with a passion for learning and creating opportunities for learners, including work experience and enrichment. You will also have a strong work ethic with high standards and effective communication and presentation skills

To be successful, you must ideally have a degree or alternative professional qualification in a relevant subject. You will have a recognised teaching qualification, (L5 or above) or willing to work towards obtaining this qualification. You will have experience of work within industry sector role as either an electrician or lecturer in electrical installations. You will have knowledge of developments within the FE sector and experience of supporting learners to achieve within a college environment. 

Sandwell College is working in partnership with the Employment and Training Foundation (ETF) to deliver taking teaching further.

An enhanced package is available to the successful candidate(s). This enhancement may include additional coaching, mentoring and support; a reduced timetable and study support. All applicants should be committed to the completion of a Level 5 (or higher) qualification relevant to the delivery of teaching and learning.
