We are looking for a vibrant and committed lecturer with the ability to inspire students and maintain excellent working relationships in a very successful English and Languages team. A willingness to support students pastorally is essential, as is knowledge of current developments in post-16 education.
The department teaches a range of English courses: A Level English Language and Literature, A Level English Language, A Level English Literature, GCSE English Language resit, Functional Skills English and IB English. The ability to offer flexibility across courses within the department is important. Previous experience of teaching A Level English is essential and a specific interest in A Level English Language and/or A Level English Language and Literature would be an advantage. As well as teaching, the successful candidate will also have responsibility for a tutor group.
We are looking for someone who works with confidence with a wide variety of ability levels, who is a committed team member and who projects an enthusiasm for this subject.
The successful applicant will be expected to provide high quality teaching on education programmes, and to contribute to providing an outstanding learning experience for our students. Applicants should hold a degree or similar professional qualifications and a recognised teaching qualification.
