About Plymouth College of Art

As an independent, specialist art college we welcome people who want to be part of our free-thinking and dynamic community.

We recruit the best people to a variety of roles within a stimulating, friendly and diverse environment that nurtures talent and rewards success. Our staff come from across the country, not only for our outstanding reputation but because of the culture of innovation and forward thinking that is part of the College community.

Currently the College has a ratio of HE to FE students of 60:40, BA (Hons) and MA through to FE for Extended Diploma courses. In addition, we enjoy partner status with the Open University, which accredits our undergraduate and postgraduate degrees with 57% of our staff dedicated to curriculum delivery and are focused on achieving TDAP status. We also have a growing international profile including partnerships in China.

In 2012 we successfully bid to Government to open a mainstream 4–16 school - on a radical new model that places creativity and arts practice at the very heart of the curriculum and of the wider pupil learning experience. The venture was described as ‘an historic moment for education in this country’ by Sir Nicholas Serota, Director of Tate when he officially opened the school in 2015 and has since gone on to receive multiple awards in architecture. www.plymouthschoolofcreativearts.co.uk
