Sandwell college are looking to employ a full time person for the position of an experienced Multi Skills Lecturer, with a good knowledge of Carpentry. This role will deliver teaching in multi-skills to a range of students, including those out of work looking to develop new vocational skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high quality experience and instilling the enthusiasm and motivation in students to help them achieve their targets and subsequent career aspirations.

As the ‘Further Education College of the year 2019’, we have a fantastic opportunity for experts within Carpentry to join us on a permanent contract, reporting into John Mckeon.

You will deliver specific programmes that focus on Carpentry in line with the college prospectus and contributing to our aims and objectives, working towards successful outcomes for students and a positive overall experience at the College.

This role will allow you to deliver exciting and interactive teaching, learning and assessment to an outstanding standard, whilst ensuring outstanding success for all learners and ensure targets are met. You will assume joint responsibility within course teams for the quality of course delivery and work with an agreed teaching load, to teach groups of students in one or more of the core programme areas.

This is an excellent opportunity to take full responsibility for course tutorship and encourage opportunities for learning, including work experience and enrichment. You will use your excellent communication and organisational skills to conduct a variety of diverse methods to meet all students learning requirements.

To be successful you will have a recognised teaching qualification, (L5 or above) or willing to work towards obtaining this qualification and experience of working within the area of Carpentry. You will have a strong awareness of current developments in Carpentry and be able to combine this with your ability to teach and inspire students.
