Job overview

The Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Physical Education for the BSc Physical Education (PE) programme, to commence in January 2018 (or as soon as reasonably possible thereafter).

This post offers the successful candidate an opportunity to contribute to lecturing and module/programme development in a rapidly developing and popular aspect of the Department’s undergraduate work.   You must possess a good undergraduate degree, and have significant experience of teaching PE and school sport, either in primary or secondary school. In addition to the academic contribution, the role would involve strong elements of practical teaching as well as supervising and managing the PE teaching placements of students.

The position is ideal for someone with aspirations to move into the Higher Education sector, and the motivation and dedication to carve out a career therein as a member of a committed team of colleagues. You must be willing to register for a higher degree in a PE/sports-related subject, and keen to develop a research profile over time.

Potential candidates are welcome to contact either the Programme Leader (Andy Scattergood: a.scattergood@chester.ac.uk / 01244 513449) or Head of Department (Ken Green: k.green@chester.ac.uk / 01244 512530) to discuss the position.

Candidates may download further details from our website at www.chester.ac.uk/jobs/ and apply for the post via our Online Recruitment Website quoting reference number RA001369.
