Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer in Primary Education

You will provide research-led teaching, assessment and leadership on programmes and courses in Initial Teacher Education. You will have academic experience at post-doctoral level including established contributions to research and research-informed teaching in Primary Education. You will have considerable successful experience of teaching in the primary sector and will be registered (or eligible for registration) with the General Teaching Council for Scotland. You will take responsibility for developing, teaching and leading both undergraduate and post-graduate programmes and courses in Teacher Education and will contribute to the wider work of the School. You will represent Initial Teacher Education in appropriate networks nationally, and develop our partnership with schools and Local Authorities. A specialism in the area of Language and Literacy would be highly desirable for this post.

You will enhance the existing team by developing research-led teaching, undertaking research in an area related to Primary Education and/or Initial Teacher Education and by supervising research students. You will make a significant contribution to the research profile of the team by securing research grants and by publishing and disseminating high quality research outputs, and will contribute to the knowledge exchange and impact profile of the School by engaging in CPD and events for external audiences.

This is a full-time, open-ended post with an annual salary of £38,896 to £46,414 per annum for 35 hours each week.
