Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer in Science Education Biology. This is an exciting opportunity to shape sector-leading provision for Moray House School of Education in the subject area of Teacher Education, mainly the field of Primary Education.

In the discipline/subject area of Science Education and General Science, specifically in the field of Biology Education, you will demonstrate established contributions to teaching and research, underpinned by experience of teaching Science Education, Biology Education and/or Outdoor Learning at different levels of education. You will, preferably, have academic experience in the HE sector at post-doctoral level, making established contributions to research and research-led teaching in the field of Science Education. You will make a significant contribution to work with the science leadership team in shaping visions for Science Education, spanning broadly from Science education, STEM and Sustainability Education, making a demonstrable impact at national or international levels.

You will be responsible for developing, teaching and administering courses on Science Education, STEM and Sustainability Education across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and will contribute to the wider work of the subject area and the School. You will represent Science Teacher Education in its broadest sense in appropriate networks nationally and internationally and develop University of Edinburgh Teacher Education Partnerships with Local Authorities and schools. Research activity will involve securing research grants and publishing high quality research outputs for academic and professional audiences to a level that is commensurate with the international reputation of the University of Edinburgh for research excellence and knowledge exchange.
