Job overview

Thank you for your interest in the role of Lettings Assistant at The Milton Keynes Academy.

This is brand new post to support our Evening and Weekend Lettings programme. We are looking for the right person to develop this area. You may have experience in the Leisure industry or have previously worked in a school environment but most importantly enjoy working with people. The role is to provide high quality service to individuals/organisations hiring the school facilities, and to ensure the site facilities are appropriately used and are clean and secure at the beginning and end of each hiring.

The post holder will represent the school during letting periods and will therefore be expected to display a high level of responsibility, reliability, organisational and communication skills. The role will involve mainly weekend work and evening work where necessary. In addition occasional daytime support may be needed, so a flexible approach to working hours is essential.

The nature of the post requires the postholder to work to a flexible roster, between the hours of 06:00 and 22:00 directed by the Facilities Manager. Annual hours will be based on an average working week of up to 20 hours per week (actual working hours per week are to be agreed at interview) over a period of 52 weeks, with 25 days holiday entitlement + Bank Holidays, (rising to 27 after 5 years’ service).

We are based in central Milton Keynes, an area that continues to grow and thrive at a rapid rate. The Milton Keynes Academy joined Creative Education Trust in September 2018. This has enabled the school to continue its rigorous pursuit of rapid improvement for the children it teaches.

Our staff are inspirational and caring. The students are at the heart of everything we do and if you share our vision of Opportunities for Everyone and are suitably qualified for the role, then we would love to hear from you!

We are an equal opportunities employer. MKA is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, we expect all staff to share this commitment. References from previous employers will be requested for short-listed applicants prior to interview.

If you think that The Milton Keynes Academy would be the right place for you to inspire our students, please visit our website to download a recruitment pack and application form, or contact our HR Team on careers@miltonkeynesacademy.org.uk should you require any further information.

We will review applications on receipt. Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date, and we reserve the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.

Closing date:        Wednesday 31 August 2022

Interview date:     W/c Monday 5 September 2022

Start date:     As soon as possible
