Hinchley Wood is an inclusive and high achieving school in Esher, Surrey, celebrating student progress and development as well as academic achievement.  We are one of the top 100 performing schools in terms of the progress our students make between the end of Key Stage 2 and their GCSEs, and highly sought after with 1,300 students on roll including 230 in our 6th form.     

We have a new opportunity within our premises team for a Lettings Manager/Caretaker.  Duties will include: 

• Overseeing the use of school premises hired out to external Lets, setting up/taking down equipment in a timely manner and providing effective support to Lets.  

• Acting as a keyholder, opening and locking up as required and ensuring site security at all times. 

• Machine cleaning of corridors, halls and rooms. 

• Promoting a safe environment, ensuring a strict adherence to all procedures including health and safety requirements and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations and safe operation of equipment.  

The ideal candidate will have a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to establish effective relationships with colleagues and external lets, plus the flexibility to complete changing workload demands and ensure our Lets have the support they need whilst on site.   

A good working knowledge of machine cleaning in a busy environment is required, together with the ability to plan and implement cleaning schedules.  Experience of using a range of cleaning equipment and materials and knowledge of health and safety will be advantageous, although training will be offered to the right candidate.    

The role is for 36 hours per week working Monday to Friday and alternate Saturdays (Monday – Friday only during August).  The pattern of hours are expected to be 2.00 – 10.00 pm Monday – Thursday (including an hour break) and 4.00 – 9.00pm Friday.  Alternate Saturday hours are 8.30 – 12.30pm returning to lock up 6.30 – 7.00pm. The salary scale progression range for the role is £19,336 – £22,189 per annum.
