Job overview

3 Positions Available

We are looking to appoint three excellent and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to contribute to the teaching and learning at Bluecoat Primary. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, confident and be able to work well as part of the Primary team. Both positions will be to support pupils with ASD, one within our Specialist ASD provision and the other within a small group. Knowledge, experience and a passion for working with children with ASD is essential.

Archway Learning Trust, previously Bluecoat Academies Trust, was formed in April 2014 as a result of the very long and successful history of Bluecoat Academy. We are based in the heart of the city of Nottingham, providing high quality learning experiences for students from the ages of 3 – 18.

Our Trust is made up of both Church of England academies and schools of no designated religious character. This unique blend has created a distinctive family of schools that are bound together through a passionate belief in the transformational power of education for every child.

Bluecoat Primary is large, diverse and vibrant, academy with a Focus Provision for pupils with ASD. It has a strong set of values that are at the heart of its work and there is a clear vision for continual growth and development. In its recent Ofsted inspection (2022), Bluecoat Primary was recognised for the powerful work it does within a disadvantaged community by awarding it ‘outstanding’ judgments for Leadership & Management, Behaviour & Attitudes and Early Years.

The children we serve are from very diverse backgrounds and so our approach needs to be flexible, understanding and adaptive whilst staying true to our strong Christian ethos and maintaining focus on our core values. We offer a nurturing environment to our pupils as well as our staff. Staff wellbeing is important at our school and within our Trust. We utilise a range of strategies to ensure children and adults alike are able to thrive.

The growth and development of our Multi-Academy Trust makes this an excellent opportunity to join us, as we seek to serve a growing number of young people across the region.

In return, we can offer:

  • Archway benefits include shopping discounts and competitions.
  • A free and confidential employee assistance programme offering counselling and advice.
  • Access to Teachers' Pensions.
  • Access to discounted travel schemes.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  •  Comprehensive training and support.
  •  Opportunities to develop new skills and progress your career.
  • Eye care voucher scheme.
  • Free flu vaccine.
  • Access to e-learning and development.
