We are looking to appoint a talented Teaching Assistant to join our strong and committed team. Hillcrest is a vibrant, inclusive academy that is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with pupils who have Special Educational Needs. Experience of working 1:1 with children is preferred, although support and training will be provided to the successful candidate. Our successful candidate will be joining an incredibly strong and collaborative team within our school.

We are looking to appoint a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work alongside the class teacher to further children’s learning and deepen their understanding. The post holder will work under the direct supervision and line management of the Class Teacher/Principal. The post holder will also supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities. This will include supporting a child 1:1 both in and outside of the classroom and to assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes, including Intimate Care plans.

Hillcrest Academy is a larger-than-average primary school located in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The school provides places for around 400 pupils aged 3-11. Hillcrest Academy is part of the GORSE Academies Trust, which is responsible for the running of around eight schools in the local area, at both primary and secondary level.
Hillcrest takes great pride in its extremely diverse catchment area, with a high proportion of pupils from ethnic minority backgrounds and a similarly high proportion of pupils who speak English as an additional language.
