Job overview

We are looking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant with SEN experience and expertise, whose role will also include Midday Supervising, to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will be highly proactive, committed to going that extra mile to ensure pupils achieve the best they possibly can.    Forest Academy, judged as ‘Good with Outstanding Leadership and Management’ in its most recent Ofsted inspection in April 2015, is a great place to work. The school is dedicated to providing a stimulating, exciting environment where everyone feels valued and safe. Creativity and ideas flourish and children can reach their full potential. We have a dedicated staff and leadership team who are raising standards year on year and taking the school forward.  By promoting excellent behaviour, we aim to enthuse in all our children a desire to learn, as well as care and respect for each other. Forest Academy is at the heart of the community. It is a growing three form of entry and recently opened an impressive free flow EYFS unit, complete with a stream and forest in out outdoor area! We are a thinking school, which places a strong emphasis on integrating innovative technology and the outdoors into our learning.  The Synaptic Trust is led by Stuart Roberts (NLE) who is also the Executive Head Teacher of both West Thornton Primary and Forest Academies. West Thornton Primary Academy, an outstanding school, has recently been designated as a national Teaching School. Forest Academy is at the heart of the teaching school alliance. Staff working for the trust will have access to first rate CPD and further opportunities for career progression. A job at Forest Academy may open up opportunities across the Trust and Teaching School.  Forest Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff, volunteers and external agencies to share this commitment. We are an equal opportunities employer. The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check, Medical Clearance and satisfactory Employment References. If you are shortlisted for interview, please allow the whole day for the interview process.  To apply: please use the person specification explaining why you are a suitable candidate for this role.
