Bishop Milner Catholic College is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team as Level 3 Teaching Assistant. Working under the instruction of the college SENCO you will collaborate with teaching colleagues to support the delivery of quality learning, teaching and assessment to help raise standards of achievement for all students.
As a teaching assistant within Bishop Milner Catholic College you will offer 1:1 support to students with SEND across the college. You will be supporting a number of different students, taking a pupil-centred approach to their learning so as to ensure that their individual needs are at the heart of all that we do. You will be supporting a variety of SEN including SEMH, emotional regulation, ASD and communication needs. You will implement positive behaviour strategies, complete speech and language interventions and phonics assessments. You will liaise with the class teachers and the college SENCO on your students progress and aid in the management of their EHCP's.
It would be advantageous if candidates could demonstrate the following:
- experience of supporting students with speech, language and communication needs including autism
- experience of working with students with cognition and learning needs thereby able to collaborate with teachers to differentiate tasks and activities for students working significantly below age related expectations
- must be prepared to train for, or be experienced in delivering, intimate care plans
- an understanding of students sensory differences
- experience of helping students to understand and regulate their emotional responses and develop a greater sense of self-awareness, independence and resilience
- working knowledge of a range of interventions and approaches to enhance literacy and numeracy development
- partnership with parents
- facilitating EHCP annual reviews
