Job overview

As the largest primary school in the country, we are excited to be recruiting for a variety of roles to meet the needs of our rapid expansion. Following on from our recent successful Ofsted judgement (February 2015) we are seeking ambitious values driven professionals who are willing to work with us in our expansion and support us in driving forward the agenda for social equality and excellent provision for our children.

Claycots School Partnership is seeking to recruit a teaching assistant with responsibility for children with additional needs due to social, emotional or behavioural issues.

You would promote the use of the school’s behaviour policy and work with class teachers to support children to remain calm and on task in class. You would work closely with the SENCO and other professionals to ensure that children receive the right support to pre-empt any difficulties.

With support from the SENCO, you would be responsible for supporting children with individual behaviour plans, running social skills groups, and supporting children on the playground at playtime and lunchtime. You would also support teachers with detention duties.

You would develop a working relationship with children who need support, and track progress over time towards agreed goals with support from the SENCO.

The ideal candidate would have at least two years’ experience working with challenging children in a school setting. You should hold NVQ level 2 in Supporting teaching and learning in schools, and you should be able to demonstrate a good level of ICT skills as you will be required to input data as part of your duties.
