Job overview

36 weeks a year

We are looking for an experienced supervisor to manage the day to day running of our newly built school library, which houses fiction and non-fiction books for the senior school, as well as a suite of computers for pupil use and areas for reading and studying. In addition to taking control of the usual book management responsibilities and maintaining a suitable working atmosphere, we are looking for someone who is able to provide support for individual pupils and monitor their progress, as well as running timetabled reading groups for Years 7 and 8 and older EAL students. The successful candidate will also assist academic staff using the library with groups of pupils. This is an exciting role and a key function of our busy school.

Stonar is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 2 to 18, which was rated excellent by ISI in October 2018 for both pupil achievement and personal development - a standard maintained in our recent 2023 inspection. Our pupils regularly achieve results which are beyond expectations, both academically and personally, and we pride ourselves on our ability to nurture the learning needs of every individual in a respectful, supportive and globally-minded community. All staff are expected to proactively support the aims of the School.

A willingness to be involved in the extra-curricular life of this busy boarding school is required.

Stonar is situated in over eighty acres of beautiful Wiltshire countryside, yet only a twenty minute drive from the World Heritage City of Bath and within easy reach of the M4 corridor. The School benefits from being part of Globeducate, a forward-thinking international group of schools, giving pupils and staff the opportunity to be an active part of a globally-minded community.
