Not only is Little Lever School one of the most improved schools in the country it has also been judged Good in every category by OfSTED!

We understand the importance of reading and how this supports students to acquire knowledge.  We know the difference reading can make to a student’s life chances!

We have invested heavily in a new school library which is one of the largest school libraries in the North of England with a capacity to hold over 10,000 books.  It sits at the heart of the school.  We would like to recruit a librarian who will inspire our students to continue to read and promote the research skills they will need for further study at University, college and for the rest of their lives.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented, committed and inspiring librarian to join our academy to manage one of the largest school libraries in the North of England. The post is available for a July 2022 start.

Our newly appointed librarian will help support our curriculum by carefully and strategically selecting the remaining 6000 books in the library in order that the reading material complements our curriculum and inspires students to read.

The systems and structures we have established, through clear expectations and a relentless focus on our praise culture, routines and behaviour have created a positive environment where students can learn and teachers can teach.

We invest heavily in staff training and have created nationally recognised CPD programmes.  We concentrate on research led initiatives to drive forward teaching and learning and have creative, innovative curriculum solutions that allow all students to achieve things they never thought they could.

‘Staff are keen to develop and embrace new ideas. Their morale is high.  Staff appreciate leaders’ strategies to consider their well-being and reduce their workload’ (OfSTED, March 2022)

‘Teachers’ subject knowledge is strong.  They receive high quality training and time to work collaboratively with others to hone their delivery of the subject curriculums.’ (OfSTED, March 2022)

The school has continued to improve at pace and this is an exciting time to join Little Lever as we look to become an Outstanding school and continue to help every person achieve things they never thought they could!
