Library and Literacy Teacher-Aug 2021

Arcadia School is a warm, vibrant and dynamic community, with a Primary and Secondary Campus, set in the heart of Jumeirah Village Triangle in Dubai. Opened in 2016, teachers at Arcadia are provided with a unique opportunity to work in state-of-the-art buildings alongside world class colleagues delivering exceptional learning opportunities. As a young and forward-looking school, we have seized the opportunity that new technologies provide, where teachers and pupils utilise leading edge Apple technology on a daily basis to create, communicate and collaborate. As an Apple Distinguished School we embrace innovation and design thinking as part of our day to day learning challenges.
The Person
We are undertaking a search for a well-qualified and talented Library and Literacy Lead Teacher with experience and passion for teaching children of all ages. A sound knowledge of up to date teaching methods and pedagogy and an ability to instill a love of learning for children are crucial, as is a willingness to share best practice with colleagues. We focus strongly on a team approach and will provide a high level of on-going, targeted professional development for all our staff. The successful candidate will manage both campus library facilities and resources, lead a small team of assistants and collaborate with the English and Literacy Lead Teachers in both divisions. Previous teaching experience in this field is desirable but not essential, however, graduate qualifications in a related field demonstrating expertise is a vital component for all applicants.
Curriculum
We offer the National Curriculum for England to children from FS1 to Year 8 currently (opening Year 9 in 2021-22), as well as a fully
enriched programme, including music, theatre, STEAM, sport, adventure and enterprise options. We offer a competitive salary and international package to the right candidate.
