Job overview

We require a committed, confident and enthusiastic Library and Student Resources Manager from April 2018 to lead the further development of the Library in this Outstanding (OfSTED April 2011), lively and successful 11-18 Secondary School. 

The ideal candidate will enjoy working within the School supporting students. They will have a clear, strategic vision of how the Library can support Learning and Teaching in a collaborative way to enhance student enjoyment and achievement. 

We are looking for a suitably qualified professional who is a team player and student focussed, to lead and develop the service to meet the requirements and aspirations of the School. For the right candidate this will be an exciting, challenging and extremely rewarding role.

A desire to make a positive contribution to the life of the School and an enjoyment of working with students are essential. A good level of education is required, with numeracy and literacy skills to GCSE or equivalent (A*-C).

About Bishop Heber High School

Bishop Heber High School is a mixed, non-denominational comprehensive school with a sixth form, there are 1280 students on roll aged 11-18. It is situated in the picturesque village of Malpas. The school has an enviable reputation for excellence both within its catchment area and far beyond. The school was founded in 1960.

Location

Malpas is a large village placed deep in the south Cheshire countryside. There are several pubs in the village as well as good quality local shopping. Malpas also hosts a regular Farmers’ Market. If you are looking to explore, Malpas is a great base for sightseeing with Cheshire, Shropshire and North Wales just a stone’s throw away. Practically on your doorstep is the famous city of Chester, you can reach the city in 30 minutes and explore all the historic sites.
