We are currently recruiting for a Library Assistant/Catch Up Tutor to join our outstanding Literacy and Learning Department. The Library and Learning Resources Centre have high quality resources and provide an excellent learning environment for our students.
In this combined role you will advise individual and small student group sessions, help our students identify and improve barriers to learning, respond to non-engagement and low attendance, whilst keeping records of student support and progress. In addition there will be opportunities for you to facilitate the Library’s promotion of wider reading, assist with enrichment activities and ensure that our learning resources are efficient and used effectively. This is a varied role in which you can inspire our students to achieve their highest academic potential.
You should have excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to develop good working relationships with students. In return we offer a wide range of staff benefits as well as the opportunity to work within a vibrant and welcoming environment.
We particularly welcome applications from individuals who are able to offer Catch Up Tutoring within the following subjects: Humanities, Business, IT, Engineering and Computing.
