Library Assistant

Stationers' Crown Woods Academy is seeking to appoint a Library Assistant who will assist the running of the school library, joining us as soon as possible. Our successful candidate will be patient, caring and also comfortable in working with readers of different ages and abilities on a face-to-face basis.

The Learning Resource Centre (LRC), or ‘school library’ in the more antiquated definition, is a unique and specialist part of an academy as it fundamentally supports students’ learning and their development to be effective, independent learners and readers. Amongst other duties, this role includes supporting the academy's literacy focus, teaching library skills to pupils and overseeing the use, storage and security of library equipment. 

Our successful candidate will assist with the returning of books to shelves, ensure that the library area is maintained in a clean and functional state at all times and also encourage reading, creativity and appreciation of cultural diversity.

This is a permanent opportunity offering an actual salary of £22,391 per annum (£24,408 full time equivalent) based on 37 hours per week, Term time + 1 week inset.
