The library is at the heart of our school. It is a special place, valued by staff and students across all year groups and the PTA are keen to support its future development. In the current climate, our school has made maintaining and developing the library a priority and you will be valued and supported in your role.
Reading and research play a significant role at our school with a number of exciting initiatives. For example, all students in years 7 and 8 take part in the Accelerated Reader programme; Year 7s have special lessons in research through our Academic Enrichment course and all 6th form students take the EPQ qualification.
The purpose of this post is to maintain the Library environment and assist with the full range of library duties. You will also be supporting students with literacy and learning skills.
We are looking for someone with a passion for literature and learning who wants to inspire this in young people. You will also need to be well organised and have excellent communication and inter-personal skills. If you have these skills then this job will enable you to flourish.
Approximately 17 hours a week (to be decided for the right candidate) term time only (ideally covering lunch and afternoons)
We are currently recruiting for two posts in our library (a Librarian and a Library Assistant). There will be a degree of flexibility for the right candidates.

Wood Green School is a mixed, comprehensive, secondary school with sixth form situated in Witney, Oxfordshire. It is an academy converter operating under The Acer Trust, which was co-founded by four Oxfordshire schools: Wood Green School, Chalgrove Primary School, Icknield Community College and Matthew Arnold School.
Wood Green School provides 1,335 places for students between the ages of 11 and 18 when fully subscribed. It converted to academy status in February 2017.
