Established in 1974, Runshaw College has grown significantly from its humble beginnings as a Sixth Form College with just 450 students. Over the past 50 years, we have evolved into a comprehensive Tertiary College, now serving over 6,000 learners and supported by a dedicated team of more than 650 staff members. Our commitment to teaching, learning, and student needs has earned us a national reputation for educational excellence.

As the only college in the country to have won the European Quality Award for Excellence, we were subsequently awarded Beacon College status by the Department for Education. Our offerings include an impressive array of over 40 different subjects, making us one of the country’s largest providers of A-Level courses. In addition to our sixth-form curriculum, we offer a wide variety of vocational courses spanning Entry Level to Level 3, numerous apprenticeships in collaboration with local employers, and adult learning programs to cater to our community’s needs.

At Runshaw College, we take pride in our robust relationships with a diverse range of employers. Together, we co-create an agile curriculum designed to address skills shortages and cultivate a highly skilled, employable workforce for the future. Our students consistently achieve some of the strongest outcomes nationally, progressing to prestigious destinations such as Oxford and Cambridge Universities, as well as pursuing careers in Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science, and renowned conservatoires.

Located in Leyland, we serve students from across Lancashire. With close links to major motorways including the M6, M61, M65, and A59, we’re conveniently within commuting distance of Manchester, Liverpool, and South Cumbria.
