Evelyn Grace Academy is a mixed, non-selective secondary school in Lambeth. The Academy opened in 2008 and moved into its award-winning building on Shakespeare Road in 2010. Evelyn Grace Academy was judged as good by Ofsted in 2014.

We are looking for a creative, highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills to play a leading role in the development, direction and oversight of our whole school literacy initiative. Our ideal candidate will be an experienced, skilled practitioner with a passion for teaching English, which is a popular A Level subject. Clear understanding of effective strategies for improving literacy in pupils across the age and ability range and dedication to securing high levels of attainment for all our students through consistently outstanding teaching and learning is essential.

The successful applicant will have the ability to influence others and will also be a strong team leader and team player, committed to the Academy’s ethos of high expectation and aspiration for all. You will also be keen to help realise the schools vision to “create leaders of tomorrow in every walk of life”.

Ark Evelyn Grace Academy is an 11-16 mixed secondary school, located at the heart of the London Borough of Lambeth. We are a community school and part of the Ark Network. Our mission statement is to empower our students to be the voice of their future. This is based on the belief that each young person is different, difference should be embraced, and each young person has a unique contribution to make and should be given a voice. Through finding their voice, young people can lead empowered lives where they have choice, agency and influence. We are focused on the future as we want our young people to be the face of it.

School Structure

The school has a small leadership team that comprises of the Principal, two Vice Principals and two Assistant Principals. Each subject area is lead by a Head of Department and year groups are led by a Director of Learning (Head of Year).
