Undershaw is a specialist setting where children from Year 3 to Post 16 with mild to moderate learning difficulties and additional needs, such as ASD, cerebral palsy, hemiplegia, and medical vulnerabilities can access the national curriculum and qualification pathways in a safe, secure, and friendly environment.

We are looking for a Literacy Intervention Tutor who will work with individuals and small groups, identified as needing additional support with SpLD, reading and comprehension. You will raise standards within reading and monitor and support student progress. There will be accountability for targeted support for students who are dyslexic and/or have SpLD identified on their EHCP.

We would welcome applications from experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers or those with specific literacy teaching/tutoring qualifications. You will have sufficient proven evidence of supporting students with reading and literacy interventions and be able to demonstrate that you can balance academic expectations with the challenge of meeting the needs of SEND students.
