An exciting opportunity has arisen for a LOTC Lead (Learning Outside the classroom) to join ACE Schools Plymouth, part of Transforming Futures Trust.


ACE schools is an alternative provision academy based across Cornwall, Plymouth, and Devon. We support up to 500 pupils each year ranging from Year 1 to Year 11. Pupils that we work with often have complex needs and as a result of this don’t currently attend mainstream or special schools’ settings. Our aspiration for all pupils is that we can support them to return to a specialist or mainstream settings and our focus is providing our young people with the skills necessary to make this transition successful.


ACE North Hill are looking for a LOTC Lead To Support the ACE Goal of ‘The consistent provision of an excellent standard of education that raises aspiration and provides our young people with emotional, social and academy tools to achieve their life goals’.

 

The successful applicant will contribute to the planning and implementation of the LOTC programme in a collaborative way with LOTC colleagues and Subject Co-ordinator. To deliver the outdoor learning programme within the framework of policies and procedures detailed within ACE policies. The LOTC Lead will lead the delivery of outdoor learning programmes on a day-to-day basis appropriate to groups of vulnerable and challenging pupils. Pupils attending ACE may have been excluded from mainstream schools or be in danger of being excluded. They may have complex educational needs, exhibiting barriers to learning which may include social and emotional issues, anger management and aggressive behaviour and poor levels of literacy and numeracy.
