We seek an energetic Japanese teacher who is experienced in adapting the curriculum to suit individual needs. The position is for Year 3 - 6. The successful applicant will be well supported in embedding BCE ELT initiatives into their curriculum delivery.
Queen of Apostles School is a co-educational primary school with an approximate enrolment of 500 students. The school has two campuses, with Prep to Year 2 located at Chuter St Stafford Heights and Years 3 to 6 at Thuruna Street. Queen of the Apostles Catholic Primary School is a co-educational school serving prep to Year 6, located in the suburb of Stafford, 11 kilometres North of Brisbane CBD. The school has a population of approximately 514 students, supported by 39 teaching staff.
In 1957, Archbishop Duhig purchased land in Stafford for the purpose of building a Catholic school. The school was ready for enrolments by 1961 but didn’t begin operating until the following year. In January 1962, 190 students began in Grades 1, 2 and 3 with three sisters, Sr Adria, Sr Bernadette and Sr Pius and one lay teacher Mrs Eileen Cameron.

Queen of the Apostles is a two-campus school with prep to Year 2 located in Chuter Street, Stafford Heights and Years 3 to 6 in Thuruna Street, Stafford. The school has libraries on both campuses and is well equipped with current technology and wireless internet access. Each classroom has a data projector and students have access to laptops and iPads which are frequently used during learning activities.
Curriculum
The school’s learning and teaching program is based on Australian Curriculum and Queensland Studies Authority syllabi with support from Brisbane Catholic Education’s Learning Teaching Framework. The learning experiences and programs provide for differences in learning abilities and guide individuals to their own level of achievement. Subjects provided at the school include religious education, mathematics, English, humanities and social sciences, science, the arts, health and physical education, cultural literacy, Japanese and technology.
