About St Joseph's Primary School

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School can be found in the Oxfordshire market town of Banbury. With just over 200 pupils, St Joseph’s is smaller than the average school of its type, and provides education in a co-educational setting for children aged 3-11. The school has a small but diverse catchment area, with St Joseph’s taking great pride in the diversity of its students.

In 2014, the school became part of the Pope Francis Multi-Academy Company, a small trust responsible for the running of three primary and secondary Catholic schools in and around Oxfordshire.

Vision and values

As a school in the Catholic tradition, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary highly values the individual talents and attributes of its children, each of whom is unique in the eyes of God. Teachers work hard to ensure the spiritual and moral development of pupils, alongside their academic achievement. Owing to the school’s diversity, tolerance and respect for other religions and faiths is of paramount importance, and staff work hard to ensure that this is instilled in pupils.

Ofsted report

“Pupils behave well in and around the school, and they have enthusiastic attitudes towards their learning. Pupils are well looked after in a caring, happy and diverse multicultural environment. Parents and carers have a high regard for the school, and are especially appreciative of the good start children have to their education in the Early Years Foundation Stage.”
