LRC Manager and Careers Co-Ordinator

Salary: CAN scale 21-25 (£24,590 - £27,029 per annum, full time equivalent. Term time only, pro-rata salary £20,508 - £22,542 per annum)

Working hours: 36 per week and 190 days per year (188 term days plus 2 staff preparation days).

8.00am – 15.45pm (Monday – Thursday) and 8.00am – 15.30pm (Friday) inclusive of a 30 minute break each day.

This is a non-teaching post, which will give the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to work closely with young people supporting them in their school life.   

The role will allow you to work closely with the English Department and Literacy Leads to promote reading across the school and provide reading support and interventions to identified groups of students and to provide support in English lessons as requested.

The LRC Manager and Careers Co-Ordinator will ensure that the LRC is an attractive and welcoming environment, well stocked with up-to-date and stimulating range of resources relevant to a wide range of subject areas and careers.

You will also be in charge of co-ordinating the provision of careers advice and guidance in Years 7-13 with the support of your attached SLT link, as well as taking the lead in promoting work experience placements for pupils in Year 10. You will have the ability to draw on the expertise within the Trust as appropriate.

You will be expected to work effectively with both teaching and support staff at all levels as well as with parents/carers, students and external agencies. 

Training in school systems and practices will be provided both prior to the post being undertaken and during service.

Experience of working with the reading programme 'Accelerated Reader' is desirable but not essential.
