Lunch Time Assistant – Posts are Term Time Only Fixed Term Contracts until 31st July 2019  Start date ASAP  Based at the St Albans Campus 17.5 hours per week - Part Time 10:30am until 2:00pm Monday to Friday  Starting salary - £6,832 per annum

Oaklands College is home to one of the largest SEN provisions for students aged 16-24 in Hertfordshire. The Springfield and Supported Learning departments support a range of learners with both moderate and severe learning difficulties and/or disabilities. The college also has a specialist department for students with Autism and is accredited through the National Autistic Society (NAS).

We are looking for enthusiastic, adaptable and caring individuals to support and supervise students with various learning needs over the lunchtime period.

You will be joining a friendly and supportive team within the College where you can grow and develop in your career.

As a Lunch Time Assistant working with us, you can expect a competitive salary, excellent training and development.

Your role as Lunch Time Assistant will include;

Maintain the food preparation areas and appliances to a suitable standard of cleanliness. Set out and serve lunch to all the students in the classroom 

Check the allergen(s) content of food

Related to the above: To read and understand risk assessments, in order to ensure students are not consuming any food that may put them at risk 

To ensure that students are served food that they have expressed a preference for 

To recognise that the students are young adults, to be treated as such, and to ensure that age appropriate language is used

To be considered for this role applicants will have the following;

Experience of working with young people with disabilities and learning difficulties and hold a Basic Food and Hygiene qualification although training will be provided if you do not hold this already.

(Please note you will be required to complete and pay for new enhanced DBS check before you can start at the College, unless you are part of the DBS update service)
