We are looking to recruit a Lunchtime Assistant within our school which supports young people with autism between Year 1 and Year 14.  We recognise that every child is different.  That’s why we create individual learning programmes matched with a core team of therapists.

The key responsibility of a Lunchtime Assistant is the supervision of young people at lunchtime in the dining room, playground or classroom.

The position also includes assisting in preparing children for lunch then returning them to the classroom or playground at the end of the period.  You will also prepare the dining area at lunchtime which includes organising furniture and other equipment, ensuring cleanliness.

A requirement of the role is to engage the young people in appropriate forms of play as well as assisting other staff in managing young people’s behaviour, in a manner appropriate to the level of training received.

Can you work independently and on your own initiative?  Do you enjoy supporting young people in a care, support or education role?  We are looking for someone with a flexible “can do” attitude and who likes to work as part of a team.

Do you have the values the Together Trust endorses; Positive, Passionate, Professional and Supportive?
