About E P Collier Primary School

EP Collier Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive community primary school in the heart of Reading, catering for pupils from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds; the number of pupils of minority ethnic origin and those with English as an additional language are much higher than the national average. We are proud of our diverse community and work hard to celebrate our successes.

Our last Ofsted inspection was in November 2017 and we were judged to be remaining "good" in all areas.

We believe in growing and developing the whole child so they are equipped with the social, emotional and educational skills needed to move onto secondary school and beyond. We have a strong PSHE ethos and each child is viewed and treated as an individual. We value our partnerships with parents and recognise the vital role they play in their children's education and well-being.

The curriculum we provide is broad and balanced and enriched with a variety of activities such as trips and visits to the school from different groups ranging from theatre shows and topic theme days to a mobile farm!

We are entering a new phase of the school's history with our roll being expanded to two form entry. We are working in partnership with Reading Borough Council to ensure that we continue to offer the children and parents a welcoming and exciting learning environment now and in the future.

The school is well situated, being a short walk from the station (you can see our Bell Tower from the new concourse) and the town centre. We enjoy being so close to the beautiful River Thames and have the added bonus of being very close to the centre of Caversham too.

Reading is a lively and eclectic town with excellent facilities for shopping, socialising and keeping fit. The Oracle Centre boasts of several large department stores, a range of restaurants and bars and a multi-screen cinema. The school has three gyms within very easy walking distance and Reading Borough Council employees are entitled to discounted membership at selected sporting facilities which includes use of gyms, attendance at classes and use of swimming pools.
