About the role

The duties of a Lunchtime Playworker are to act as a member of the team, supervising pupils during the midday break and to sustain the welfare and safety of pupils during that break period, as directed by the senior midday supervisor/head-teacher. You are expected to keep matters concerning staff and children confidential, and to refer matters when necessary to the head-teacher.

  • To ensure the smooth running of lunchtimes both inside lunch hall and outside on playgrounds/field.
  • To check that playground rotas are being followed and adjusting rotas to cover for sickness absence and wet play
  • To report any issues or concerns directly to the Headteacher/ Deputy Headteacher
  • To ensure that all incidents at lunchtime are reported and dealt with according to the school’s behavior policy.
  • To support with the smooth running of lunchtime
  • To actively encourage play by leading the children in appropriate games during the lunch break
  • To monitor behaviour and follow Cedar Road’s behaviour policy
  • To organise and lead children in playground/field games and ensure good social skills, turn-taking, fair play

7.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, Permanent

Who we are looking for

  • Be flexible, self-motivated and organised
