We are looking for an innovative, dynamic and creative cover teacher to become part of the team at Christ Church CofE Primary School, Shooters Hill to cover all years as required and provide continuity for our pupils. As the role is 0 guaranteed hours and will cover unexpected absences (with reasonable notice and by mutual agreement) we are looking for 1 or 2 suitable candidates. The role is contracted and therefore tax, national insurance and pension contributions will be paid on earnings. Successful candidates will be welcome to apply for guaranteed hours teaching roles as they arise.

Christ Church is an over-subscribed school, which has an excellent reputation locally. For further information, please visit our website at www.ccshprimary.org.uk.

We welcome applicants who:

  • Have experience across both key stages.
  • Are hard working, flexible and resilient.
  • Are friendly and want to be part of a team, and who embody our schools’ Christian values and vision for excellence.
  • Are an excellent classroom practitioner who is self- reflective and is ambitious for our children.
  • Are committed to inclusion and understand that different children learn in different ways and have a range of skills to ensure all children reach their full potential in all areas of school life.

We can offer you:

  • An experienced leadership team with a clear vision for the future of the school.
  • A working culture that focuses on positive learning behaviour and high expectations, so that children are able to achieve their very best.
  • A wonderful learning and working environment.
  • Committed, dynamic and supportive staff, governing body and community.
  • A working environment that values wellbeing and supports work-life balance through working in partnership with each other and with other schools.
  • Exceptionally well-behaved children who love to learn.

Visits to the school are encouraged. You will have an opportunity to meet a member of the leadership team to discuss the role. Please contact the school office on 020-8856-4513 or email sbm@ccprimary.greenwich.sch.uk to make an appointment. If you are unable to visit, you could call the Headteacher, Anne-Marie Bahlol for an initial conversation about the role.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be asked to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service. Further information about the disclosure can be found at www.homeoffice.gov.uk/dbs  and in the application pack.

We are also committed to positively tackling discrimination in all its forms and works to ensure that all sections of the community have fair and equal access to and experience within employment. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities, in particular those that are currently under represented in our workforce; we are respectful of all individuals’ race, age, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, caring responsibilities, disabilities and cultural background.
