This role is highly collaborative so we are looking for a well-qualified, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, practitioner who will be confident within the primary years and who thrives on team work.

This is a specialist role where the successful candidate will develop and deliver differentiated and personalised inclusion programmes for students across all year levels. The Student Support Teacher is responsible for developing appropriate provision including liaison with class teachers, parents and external professionals. Experience of working with external professionals in order to implement recommendations for students within the school context would be essential in this role.

The Student Support Teacher must:

  • Be a champion of inclusion for all;
  • An outstanding practitioner in both class and non-class based contexts with experience in working with students with diverse learning needs;
  • Be highly visible and actively involved in the school;
  • Be highly independent with resourceful approaches to planning for provision and possess initiative
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of inclusive practice and how to support learners through individualised support (Qualifications in the areas of Inclusion and neurodiversity are desirable);
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to developing high standards as well as developing great relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Clear understanding of Inclusion philosophy;
  • Evidence of experience within the area of inclusion and experience of building successful and progressive teams;
  • High emotional intelligence and self-awareness

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Education, or
  • Bachelor Degree in any subjects with PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education), or equivalent
  • Relevant teaching experience within a recognised educational organisation
