Job overview
To start as soon as possible, we are seeking a diligent, reliable and enthusiastic Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep and ongoing maintenance of the school estates. Working as part of a small and dedicated team, you will help ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. You will have excellent practical DIY and general maintenance skills, a good level of IT proficiency and a team-focused approach to work.
Hours: 40 hours per week, all year round, to be worked in the alternating shift patterns:
Shift 1: 06:00 – 14:30 (Term Time only)
Shift 2: 12:30 – 21:00 (Term Time only)
08:00 – 17:30 (School holiday periods)
Reports to: Operations Manager (or, during absence, the Assistant Operations Manager)

St Mary’s School is a girls-only, non-selective, Roman Catholic, all-through school with sixth form situated in Cambridge. It is an independent school with day and boarding options.
