Quay View School is recruiting a Maintenance Assistant to join our dedicated maintenance team.

We’re looking for a passionate and skilled handyperson with a keen interest in maintenance, DIY and facilities upkeep. In this role, you’ll be responsible for addressing day-to-day reactive maintenance issues across the school site and grounds, helping to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment for our students and staff.

You’ll also raise jobs, arrange maintenance of equipment and vehicles, liaise with contractors on and off-site and respond to ad-hoc requests from management as needed. The role includes both planned and reactive maintenance tasks, contributing to the smooth operation of our facilities.

About the school:

Tor View School is a very special school that enables young people with with Autism, trauma related interruptions, communication needs and learning difficulties to access an appropriate curriculum in a wonderful environment in the heart of Devon. With typical class sizes of 4 we are able to provide the care, attention, time and dedication to all of the young people to enable them to access education and reach their individual goals and aspirations.

At Southern Peninsula Services, we offer bespoke placements for young people (boys and girls) aged 7 to 19 years who have complex needs including SEBD, ASD and other learning disabilities.

In liaison with the commissioning LA’s and parents, we are able to make clear decisions about the educational and care programmes that best meet the individual needs of the young person. Our programmes are also supported by on-site therapy services, where necessary.
