Aurora Wilden View is a beautiful, purposeful school set in a 20 acre site with huge potential as we celebrate our one year anniversary since opening. The role:
As our Maintenance Assistant, you will assist in maintaining the site by undertaking a range of maintenance/grounds tasks under direction and supervision. Duties are likely to include undertaking all types of general repairs/renewal in maintenance related issues, painting and decorating, grounds maintenance such as grass cutting/clearing and planned maintenance works.
The role requires emphasis on Health & Safety relevant to the premises ensuring that the building and grounds are fit for purpose for students and staff to enable them to fulfil their roles.
Key Duties
Duties to include (but not limited to)the following:
- Assist in routine Maintenance work and new works in line with service needs and as required by your line manager.
- Assist in all aspects of building and grounds Maintenance.
- Assist in keeping all external areas tidy and free of litter in conjunction with the domestic team.
- Assist in securing the buildings and site as required by your line manager.
- Assist in maintaining equipment, ensuring that any defects are reported to your line manager and via the appropriate reporting systems.
- Assist in general maintenance as appropriate and as directed by your line manager
- Work in a manner that promotes the health and safety of all staff and students.
Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidate qualities:
- Experience working within an educational setting is desirable, although not essential.
- General maintenance and grounds knowledge and experience.
- Experience and ability to use a range of tools and equipment to carry out routine maintenance tasks. (This may include carpentry, painting and decorating, repairs to furniture or the building, ‘making good areas’)
