Maintenance Person

We are now seeking to appoint a practical, energetic and hardworking person to join our Site Maintenance team on a permanent contract. The successful applicant will have good general DIY experience to carry out repairs and maintenance work across our campus. The role is varied and requires flexibility, attention to detail and a positive can-do attitude.

We can offer the successful candidate a permanent contract and are looking for someone who is able to commit between 25 - 37 hours per week all year round. There is flexibility with the hours that can be worked each day and these will be mutually agreed with the successful candidate.

The salary for this position is calculate in line with NJC Grade D pay scale points 8 - 14

Actual Salary for 25 hours per week = £15,389 - £17,168 per annum.

Actual Salary for 37 hours per week = £22,777 - £25,409 per annum

(Starting point and salary will be determined on appointment, subject to experience)

Main duties and responsibilities

● Ensuring that the learning and working environment and services across the schools are maintained to a high standard.

● Follow a programme of planned maintenance to ensure that safety and essential equipment is maintained and fit for purpose. 

● Play a key role in ensuring that all services and utilities are functional across the schools.

● Ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with Health and Safety legislation, approved codes of practice and GLT Health and Safety Policy and individual school procedures.

● Make areas safe after adverse weather conditions.

● To carry out building and decoration programmes as agreed with the Management Team.

● To assist in ensuring that all Health and Safety regulations are complied with.

● To attend emergency call outs as necessary.
