Truro and Penwith College are seeking an experienced and proactive Management Accountant to join our Finance Team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in preparing and analysing monthly management accounts, balance sheets, cashflow reports, and budget forecasts.

This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for someone with proven accounting experience and strong analytical skills. You will support the Head of Finance and CFO in the preparation of statutory accounts, VAT returns, and financial statements, ensuring all information is accurate, compliant, and delivered to the highest standards.

As a key member of the finance team, you’ll also help drive improvements to financial processes and contribute to the efficient day-to-day running of the department.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Proven experience managing financial information in an education or charity environment.
  • Strong month-end and year-end reporting skills.
  • Excellent Excel and IT skills with a focus on analysis and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and reconciliation processes.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with great attention to detail.
  • A Level 4 accounting qualification (or above) is desirable.
