Are you a qualified accountant looking for a role which will provide an opportunity for you to lead a team, define practice and ultimately make a difference to the outcomes of the 12,000 children in our schools?

GLF Schools is a multi academy trust currently comprising 28 schools in the South East. We are looking for a Management and Systems Accountant to work as part of our central finance team, currently based in Esher, Surrey. Against the current landscape of reduced school funding, this role will be key to ensuring that we use our resources in the most efficient way possible to improve the life chances of every child and young person in our schools.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to apply a broad range of skills to make a positive difference and play an integral part in the continued growth of our successful trust. 

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Leading the maintenance and development of financial systems to enable us to better utilise functionality, improve integration and increase automation to deliver greater insight across the Trust
• Building the month end management reporting pack, improving process efficiency and output reliability
• Ownership of the month end process ensuring that deadlines are met and the reporting is fit for purpose and supports strategic decision making
• Challenging finance processes;  identifying and driving process improvements and efficiencies within the Trust wide finance function
Ensuring internal consistency of data across multiple systems and locations so that reliance can be placed on output and efficiencies gained

We are looking for someone who has:

• A recognised accounting qualification with at least 2 years PQE
• Experience of managing a team and delivering to deadlines
• Enthusiasm to identify and implement improvements to working practices
• Excellent communication skills
• A background in finance business partnering or similar customer focussed environment

The post holder will benefit from 24 days annual leave and generous local government pension scheme. We are willing to discuss the opportunity for part-time and flexible working patterns with exceptional candidates.

Hours: 36 hours per week, 52 weeks of the year

Salary: £45k to £50k depending on experience
