Job overview

People are proud to live in Slough, where diversity is celebrated and where residents can enjoy fulfilling, prosperous and healthy lives.

Best Job in the world

You are an outstanding practitioner, you are enthusiastic, fun and passionate about wanting children to exceed – that is why we want to hear from you!

A recent survey found “Slough the best place to work in the country” (Glassdoor research September 2017 and 2018).

As an outstanding teacher you will want to add working with the Slough Early Years’ Service to your career. You will be part of an advisory team that provides high quality advice and support to early years settings across the private, voluntary and independent sector including the network of Slough Children’s Centres.

As a passionate, creative, fun and forward-thinking individual you are just what we are looking for to join our team. We offer excellent professional development opportunities for staff and plenty of scope to build a rewarding career in this exciting sector.

Slough Borough Council offers excellent benefits to its employees: competitive leave entitlement, good pension, largely higher than average hourly rates locally, plentiful training opportunities and staff discounts with local retailers.

In this key role you will formulate the strategic plans and manage a team of staff to develop the quality of early education and provide advice and support for the Early Years Foundation Stage to staff in Early Education and childcare settings across all sectors in the borough.

For an informal discussion about this post, please contact Michael Jarrett, Service Lead Early Years and Prevention on 01753 476556.

Interviews will be held week commencing 1st July 2019.

We value diversity.
