Job overview
Cornwall Council is recruiting a new Manager for our Statutory Special Educational Needs Service (SEN).
The Statutory SEN Service works in partnership with families and young people, and a wide range of services, schools and settings to promote the best possible outcomes for children and young people with SEN. It is an exciting and rewarding career.
Who are we looking for?
You are a superb communicator at all levels and have excellent organisational skills. You relish opportunities to extend your skills and apply your knowledge and experience of SEN across the full age range of children and young people. Being person centred is in your core. You recognise the importance of clear processes and can ‘do detail’ whilst still seeing the whole picture. You are able to take sound decisions within the legislative structure based upon your experience of statutory SEN.
The space left by the person currently in this post will be a large one to fill but she’s laid down fantastic foundations for you to build on.
What are we offering you?
We are offering you significant opportunities to influence and be creative. You will be making a difference. We will support and develop you, both as an individual and as a team member. As an authority we are fully engaged in our own cycles of assess- plan-do-review improving practice and outcomes for Cornwall’s children and young people. We achieve much. We work hard, no two weeks are the same and we are a great group of people to work with.
If you really know SEN we really want to know you.
