Uxbridge College’s School of Engineering – Technology and Innovation has excellent industry standard facilities, has continued growth in apprenticeship numbers whilst maintaining high success rates well above national averages and exciting and varied commercial offer to meet industry needs.

We are seeking to appoint a part time Manager to drive forward the growth and maintain the quality of our Work Based Learning (Electrical, Plumbing and Building Services) and Commercial provision within the School. The role will involve building and maintaining partnerships with external bodies and employers, and working closely with the Head of School, Section Manager, Senior and cross College staff to ensure the effective planning, delivery and success of the apprenticeships and some commercial courses. 

You will be qualified to Level 3 in a relevant subject, have at least 3 years’ experience of teaching/assessing in the subject area and good knowledge of Engineering Apprenticeship frameworks and new standards including NVQ pathways. You should also have excellent communication skills, the ability to build relationships with employers and the ability to drive this area forward to achieve success. Knowledge of the recent apprenticeship reforms is desirable.

About HRUC - Harrow College

On 1 August 2017 Uxbridge and Harrow Colleges merged to become HCUC. The Colleges are now officially part of the same organisation and will work together to provide the best opportunities to students, but will keep their individual names and campuses. As well as keeping  their current identities each college will continue to run the majority of their current courses for the foreseeable future.

The merger of the two Colleges into a single legal entity has taken place in order to maximise future opportunities for students, employers and local communities, through a combination of preserving current provision, and pooling resources and expertise to develop education and training.

We believe this merger will result in a financially resilient and sustainable college group, allowing us to continue to meet the needs of our students, employers and the communities we serve.”

While Uxbridge College and Harrow College will continue to operate as individual Colleges serving their local and regional communities, the Uxbridge College Corporation (the Governing Body), which now oversees the running of both Colleges, has been renamed HCUC to reflect the enlarged remit of serving Uxbridge and Harrow Governors following the 1 August 2017 merger.
