Job overview

25 hours a week and for 40 weeks a year.

Peter Symonds is located in Winchester. It is a vibrant sixth form college which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. Our unofficial College motto has long been ‘Counting in Ones’ and we work hard to make this a supportive and friendly place to study, with every student treated as an individual. Not only is this at the heart of our work with our students, but we also strive to support and value our staff in the same way.

Working with the Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for a wide range of activities, including pursuing and securing media coverage for the College and organising events such as Awards evening. You will also coordinate the production of the College’s publications, update the website, direct social media engagement and produce the College newsletter. The post is mainly term time, but you will need to be able to work on A level results day and during Enrolment Week at the end of August. Working days and times to be agreed but must include Mondays and Thursdays. Flexibility is required to cover some out of hours events, particularly in the evening.

The successful candidate will have experience of digital marketing, PR, coordination of events, liaising with designers, printers and other suppliers and marketing administration. An excellent communicator, you will be well organised and happy to work unsupervised as required. Experience using Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or InDesign is highly desirable. This is an excellent opportunity to join the busy Marketing team of this thriving College, reaching out to current and prospective students, parents and the wider community.

Closing date: 12 noon on Tuesday 3 January 2017

Values and vision

'Counting in Ones' is our motto and is the key principle which guides everything we do. Value added is good and the large majority of our students progress to higher education, many to Russell Group universities. A large number of our students each year, usually around fifty, are able to secure places at the prestigious Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Pastoral support is well resourced and students also benefit from an unusual range of music, sporting and other enrichment opportunities.

Ofsted
